A Weekend in DC and Now to the Oscars.

Whew!  Bonaparte and I just got home five minutes ago from a weekend in DC.  He wanted to get me out of the house so he swooped me away to our Nation’s Capital.

Anyway, I’ll be posting pictures. IF my phone loads them–I’m having issues.

But–I’m getting ready for some serious narcissistic behavior!  The OSCARS are on this evening.

I’ve invented a drinking game.  It’s called “How Narcissistic Can You Be”.

The spectators (you, me, anyone who watches this circus) get a bottle of their favorite booze.  Place shot glasses next to the bottle of booze.

For EVERY PERSON THAT IS THANKED by actor or other narcissistic Hollywood self-centered individual, take a shot!  That could mean a serious hangover tomorrow.

In honor of this event I’m posting two links.  The first–in honor of Spike’s and Jada’s Oscar Boycott.  I wrote this post last month.  Jada and Spike!

The second:  My post from last year about the Oscars. The outfits and more!  Let me just say this.  I want Leonardo DiCaprio to win but that guy who won for that imbecile movie “Birdman” last year, better not win again. I’m still upset that “Boyhood” didn’t win.

I carry a strong grudge!

But I have to give you this song by the Kinks–it’s so fitting of The Academy Awards–Celluloid Heroes!!

About Catherine

Far from perfect, but enjoying life as a non-perfect and flawed individual at 60 years young. I'm still wondering what I'll be when I grow up! The characters in my life's screenplay include my better half. He is a refined Frenchman who grew up in Paris and summered in St. Tropez. I grew up in Long Island and summered in Long Island. I am not refined. My three grown children are also a big part of my life. For their sake, they happily live where their careers have taken them! But I can still mother them from a distance! I write about the mundane. I write about deeply shallow issues. But whatever I write or muse about--it'll always be a bit on the humorous and positive side! It's all good!

Staying up until 1.30 am to watch it over here is enough to give me a hangover, without any shots!

  2. spearfruit says:

Sorry Catherine, I do not watch the Oscars, I have not for many years now. Does that make me a bad person? 🙂

  3. Sorry Catherine, Like spearfruit, I don’t watch the Oscars. The only thing I want from EVERY PERSON THAT IS THANKED, is for each of them to donate their gift bag to a homeless person. Now, to another subject, how about coming up with a party idea for Republican Debates. LOL. Enjoy the party.

S.A. If the self-important actors or others who receive those special “gift bags” do donate those bags to the homeless, they will be sure to empty the bags first before donating them–AND they would pontificate about all the donations that all the poor working slobs should generously give–whilst they negotiate millions and millions more for their next films!

My Republican Debase–I mean DEBATE party game is to amass many bottles of top shelf booze. Open the bottles. next to the bottles are shot glasses. A pile of plastic Ziploc bags is placed next to the shot glasses. Participants take a shot glass and a plastic bag. And every time one of the bozos badmouths one another, a shot of liquor is swallowed. The participants keep drinking shots until they vomit into the bag. After everyone is done vomiting, the bags are zipped and sent to each of the Republican hopefuls! It’s a gift they so deserve! XOXOXXOXOX!

Well Catherine, Leo did win so you must be celebrating this morning. Have a good leap day.😘

    • Catherine says:

Bernadette. I’m tired as all get out because I stayed up to watch the entire snoozefest. I’m glad DiCaprio won. It was nice–even nicer that he took his mom to the awards! XOXOXO. He’s a good boy!
