HAPPY NEW YEAR! And Many Thanks and Much Love!

I pretty-much follow Patsy’s ideology on New Year’s resolutions…but..I TRY to be a better person!

It’s a New Year and a New Decade.  And while I work on my latest post on Paris Info and Tips,  I wanted to take a break and thank everyone for remaining loyal to my blog.

you holding a giant gift basket that says thank you

My sincere thanks and appreciation!

This year was difficult for me.  Due to the nature of my job, I was oftentimes just too spent emotionally to come home after work and write.  And I feel horrible about that.  This year I am making an effort to leave my work at the office the second I leave for the evening and come back to concentrate on my first love–this blog.  And I thank you for not leaving me!

I’m at my desk at home now, writing a new post and ENJOYING it!  I’m back in blogness!

It was also a year when the unexpected happened.  The loss of my brother.  I’m still incredibly saddened by this and am angry and …well, it’s time to move forward.

I wish everyone the best of for this year.  The best of health.  The best of happiness. The best of success. The best of humor–because humor is important and the best medicine is a laugh a day.

A laugh a day is key–especially if you can laugh at yourself.  I am the snorter!  Yes, I have the piggy laugh!  Do you?

Happy New Year!!!!!

About Catherine

Far from perfect, but enjoying life as a non-perfect and flawed individual at 60 years young. I'm still wondering what I'll be when I grow up! The characters in my life's screenplay include my better half. He is a refined Frenchman who grew up in Paris and summered in St. Tropez. I grew up in Long Island and summered in Long Island. I am not refined. My three grown children are also a big part of my life. For their sake, they happily live where their careers have taken them! But I can still mother them from a distance! I write about the mundane. I write about deeply shallow issues. But whatever I write or muse about--it'll always be a bit on the humorous and positive side! It's all good!

Happy new year right back at you – never feel guilty for life getting in the way of writing your blog and yes new year and new decade which I am more than happy in many ways to leave behind as it has had some terrible times in with the good stuff. Every blog post you write makes me laugh/agree/think anew or something – so it is a bonus and a pleasure to read every one and besides while you are out “doing” you are building material for some absolutely cracking blog posts later on. In the mean time – we channel our Patsy and shimmy on with life xxx

byw have you ever seen Trinny Woodhall and her makeup vids – she has a make up up line but what got me thinking she was our kinda gal was the way she wiped off her make up between examples – let me know if you find her as she makes me howl with laughter (she is also very gorgeous in a younger Patsy kind of way)

Typos – the screen is shrinking itself as I type and as it is Nr1 childs old laptop many things dont work – such as capitals and punctuation which I suspect he never used so they have rusted away..

It’s fine. Everything came off in your comments wonderfully. I’m going to check Triny in a bit. I’m working on this Paris blog post and it’s takig forever! I feel like I’m editing a book–LOL!!!! XOXOXOXOXO

Happy and healthy New Year! And thanks to you for persevering and writing this wonderful blog. I have to remember that humor gets us though a lot of the bumps and blips in this life. Your blog helps remind me of that. Again, thank you!

    • Catherine says:

Hi Irene and thank you! Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh humor gets us through so much in life. My father stressed time and time again that a sense of humor was an important trait!!! Blessed and Happy New Year to you!!! XOXOXOXO

Catherine, you are divine… or close enough. I have been following you for a year now… maybe more? Time goes so fast. For what it’s worth- I, too, wear wigs. Love them! I am from Newtown, Pa. (Bucks County) and have close friends in Philly so I go back at least once a year. My husband and I love Paris and go every other year. My daughter’s wedding made everyone crazy and I was the craziest. We got over it and I love her and her brother and their spouses more than I can say in words. I too lost a brother at a too young an age. He had a heart attack at 50. I never stop missing him. Your posts make me laugh, cry, and think. All good things. And I thank you for all of that. Happy new year, dear friend.

    • Catherine says:

Hi Nancy! Wow! We have so much in common. I used to live in Pennington, NJ and my daughter, Oona’s First Holy Communion Dress was purchased at a small boutique in Newtown–after which we enjoyed ice cream at a parlor in town! Thank you so much for your kind words and a Happy New Year to you and your family!!! XOXOXOXO

I love when I see a new post but we all understand that life can get all up in your face and you have to step away from the blog. We’ve all been there girlfriend. We get it.
Hope 2020 finds and keeps you absolutely fabulous….

  12. Yolanda Baird says:

I don’t subscribe to that bollocks either!
Not going anywhere, although I don’t check in as much as I used to…blame IG!
I recently bought the much hyped Trinny BFF, pricey but I love it! Check her videos out.
Meilleur voeux to you and Bonaparte for 2020.

    • Juliet says:

Woot! another fan of the Trinny vdeos – she is hysterical havent tried the trinny products yet – but very tempted 🙂

    • Catherine says:

Fi. IG is also partly to blame for many of us MIA! I have been checking the Trinny items out. They are pricey but if they are great………………. XOXOXOX

      • Fiona says:

The BFF is great, but I mix it with a little foundation for a little more coverage. £35 is steep but you only need one pump, I’ll be ekeing it out at that price tho.

Happy new year to you and all your loved ones Catherine. Whenever you’re ready to blog, I’m ready to read. I’ve been following you for a couple of years I think and I so enjoy your writing. I also love theTrinny products. Yes they are expensive but they do go a long way. Best wishes for the 2020s. Xx

  19. LN says:

This year, I am not going to let my work life bleed into my home life. My parents taught me to work very, very hard (1960s kid) but I am finding I have been doing that at the expense of my personal life. So wash that work day right outta your hair (or wig) and enjoy life sister!!! And also, if you don’t feel like writing when you get home from work, don’t do it. If you try to force yourself, you’ll be less creative and more resentful. Your loyal readers want you to be happy and you can’t be happy if you feel pressured to do things that do not bring you joy!

Hi Cathe! It’s been a while since I have stopped by your blog. For that I apologize. But you know, life gets in the way…all the time! It looks like you are really live your very best life! I have been seeing your posts on Instagram and am enjoying everything you share. Wishing you all the best in the new year!
