Hi Karma (which is such a great name because Karma was on the list of names for my daughter, Oona) The little wood handle that is horizontal. You have to twist it to get the spice/herbs to sprinkle out of the bottom.
To add more when it’s empty:This gets tricky: Slide the horizontal handle out of the peg. Then take the round wire off. The top will lift off. Add the spices/herbs and replace. It takes a while but once you get the hang of it, it’s much easier! XXOXOXO
