WE Did Not Vote for the Loser. THEY Did.

I know it is almost two weeks later; two weeks after a new president of these not-so-United States was elected for a second term. I started writing a blog post over a week ago.  My original post was scathing.  It went beyond scathing.  It was vile.  And it was so because I was so incredibly angry.

And two weeks later, I remain angry.  But I am also disgusted and saddened. I am not shocked because the ignorance and stupidity of those who voted for him outnumbered the lazy slobs who couldn’t get off their asses to vote.  I am also not shocked because many younger people used the Palestine/Gaza excuse for either not voting at all or voting for him.

Excuse me, but this election was about America and our future.  Our backyard of 50 states if you will and no other country.

Lady Liberty weeps along with us.

And as time marches on there are those who have voter remorse.

Here’s a breakdown. Thank you to the Latina women because they are a lot smarter than their men.

Boomers who didn’t bother to investigate researching that the president-elect has a goal of cutting social security.  Cutting it out completely.  And his Republican Congress is giddy with delight over this.  He also wants to stop Medicaid and Medicare.

I do not feel sorry for nor do I have empathy for those who voted against my demographic.  I voted for all of us to continue with our Social Security and Medicare and Medicaid.  I voted that way because I have a moral compass.

He also promised to cut Veterans’ benefits.  Just think about that.  The vets who fought for our freedom, our democracy –many losing life and limb, and a man who had bone-spurs and was too cowardly to fight for America, was elected by a good number of those same vets.

I do not feel sorry for any veteran that voted for that man.  No empathy either.  Although I thank you for your service, that is all you will get from me.  Thanks.  And sincere thanks.  But will I feel bad when you lose your benefits?  Nope.  You voted against yourselves.

Latino men.  Gotta be macho. Don’t want a woman president.  The deportations will commence and when your friends and/or a relative or two are given the heave-ho.  You voted for that.  I did not.

White ladies.  To you I say only that I hope none of your daughters, nieces, or friends’ daughters get raped.  And pregnant by the rapist because you will have one very interesting wedding reception.  After all, isn’t that what your fake Christianity wants?  Pro-life? You can marry the young women off to their rapists!

And I do not feel sorry for you either.  When your white husband decides to leave you high and dry and you have nothing—I will not shed so much as a tear or thoughts and prayers for you.  You voted against the rights for all women.

As a collective, all who voted for that man voted against civil rights for LGBTQ community.  You fear drag queens but welcome the very politicians who want to take every freedom away from all of us.

I guess the garbage voted for the garbage!

The president-elect  damaged our country in a way nobody could have imagined. He incited hate and rage and racism and bigotry and misogynistic behavior along with violence.  He sat back while he talked and encourage his cult to storm the Capitol on January 6th, a day America should have never forgotten.

The friend to Putin and lover of Adolf Hitler has, once again, been elected President of these United States.

You voted against everything that is good for America.  You voted to support a rapist.   You voted to support a racist. You voted to support a man who does not give a shit about you, your family, your neighbors, your coworkers, and the list goes on. He cares only about himself and his billionaire buddies that will get big tax cuts.

I guess his voters were not listening to economics class.

Those who voted for Trump have no clue what a tariff is. A Tariff is used to restrict imports from other countries. A tax if you will.  They increase the price of the goods imported. Therefore, imported items will become pricey.  And the consumer will have to pay the higher price of purchase because corporations will raise the prices of goods ranging from food, to clothing to automobiles and just about anything else one may need.

Yes. You voted for the price of eggs and gas to be lowered.  You didn’t do your math homework.

This makes me miss New York now more than ever.

And in Ohio, the Nazi’s marched. These Beta Boys who refused to wear masks during Covid, are now wearing masks to disguise their faces because they are cowards.  Imagine that.  NaziAmerika!

Miserable cowardly Beta Boys are afraid to show their faces. They should have been thrown into prison for life.

So yeah, a man who pontificated that he loves the uneducated, said America was garbage was voted into office.

On election night, my husband and I made a toast to Kamala Harris.  She had a plan to bring the middle classes back.  She had a plan to assist couples get homes.  And instead, people elected a convicted felon.

Here’s to you Kamala.  You gave us hope…

And we love you!

You reap what you sow and to those who voted for him, I hope you are sowing what you reaped forever.

About Catherine

Far from perfect, but enjoying life as a non-perfect and flawed individual at 60 years young. I'm still wondering what I'll be when I grow up! The characters in my life's screenplay include my better half. He is a refined Frenchman who grew up in Paris and summered in St. Tropez. I grew up in Long Island and summered in Long Island. I am not refined. My three grown children are also a big part of my life. For their sake, they happily live where their careers have taken them! But I can still mother them from a distance! I write about the mundane. I write about deeply shallow issues. But whatever I write or muse about--it'll always be a bit on the humorous and positive side! It's all good!

Hear! Hear! Catherine, I’m right there with you… angry and so fearful of what’s to come. No sympathy for any of his supporters when we all are negatively impacted by his coming actions.

    • Catherine says:

Donna. Right??? I’m sure the bellyaching and complaining will be following with “I had no idea”. Imbeciles. They should have done their homework!!

  2. Heidi says:

    💯

  3. Linda Jarnig Stevens says:

    Well said!

  4. June says:

Catherine, I share all your feelings 110%. I have developed a hate for the 51% of my fellow citizens who voted for him. I no longer respect the neighbors who posted Trump signs on their lawns. I am fearful of the future. So fearful, that I would like to suggest to my newly married son and DIL that maybe bringing children into this world is not a good idea. Countries are laughing at us, as they should. Mid terms are in 2 years…my only hope is that the assholes will be exposed and replaced. Small hope, but something to cling to.

    • Catherine says:

June. I feel the same way about bringing children into this world right now. I can’t go into a store without judging who voted for him. I see pickup trucks and automatically label the drivers as MAGA. Each day I become more and more misanthropic. I wish the old me was back but I’ve despised that pig since the 1970’s living in NYC. He’s trash and those who voted for him are also trash.

      • Lucy Nolan says:

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼!!! Me and my son are very sad for this terrible election, the worst possible

  5. sandypatti says:

Catherine, you have done it again. You share my thoughts and fears and anger. I don’t want the US to become a shithole country! But now we are headed in that direction.

  6. Marze says:

Hi Catherine, First off, I want to say that I did not vote for the Orange Man. I voted for Harris, and I thought she would do a fine job. As to why the Dems got trumped, I think they were tone deaf to the things that scare people, i.e. not being able to afford a working or middle class life. And apparently immigrants are scary. Stories of criminal illegals made headlines, but I think fundamentally it is because their needs are taxing many communities that are hurting economically already. I do not think people who voted for Trump are stupid. They do not place as much emphasis on threats to democracy, and are most concerned with how they are affected in their pocketbooks. Looking at the red/blue map after the election, there is a big gulf between coastal residents and those in the rest of the country. If the Dems take anything away from this loss, it should be that they need to appeal to a broad swath of America. There needs to be a new generation of Dem leadership, and they should be centrists. I hope they are paying attention.

    • Vava says:

I wish I didn’t think those who voted for Trump are stupid, but I do. They were lazy voters and didn’t look at the issues, but instead fell into this cult and couldn’t be bothered to do their research based on reality.

  7. Sharon says:

    100 percent true…
    I am still in shock….
The entire world is going to suffer….
I am ashamed to be from this country…

    • Vava says:

Same here. I totally agree with Cath on all of this. The MAGA cult is gaining steam too, and it’s going to get bad.

I’m going to be extra mindful of my spending and I’m going to boycott corporate media. Travel to blue states, only. I’m not going to support any of these red states.

I’ve cut ties with a few people, too. MAGAts are immoral in my view, I don’t need them in my life.

  8. Vava says:

Totally with ya. It’s the worst election of our entire lives and the ramifications are going to be around for quite awhile. I hope your kids and grands are going to be OK.

Here’s what I think might happen. Trump is in mental decline, I doubt he’ll last for 4 years in such an intense, high profile job. His MAGA folks have a plan and he isn’t in it. Melania won’t be moving to D.C which is fine with me. I found it hilarious that Russian media posted her modeling photos when she barely had anything on and they were openly mocking her. LOL.

Where has Shady Vance been? How long before Trump kicks Elon Musk to the curb??? hahahaha The Cabinet picks are an absolute disgrace.

Hang in there, we support you.

  9. Eleanor Ford says:

    It’s scary

  10. Ij says:

You’re the loser maybe? Ir stupid? Or morally inferior. We had to tolerate Biden do have some grace. Oh wait – you don’t have any. PLEASE take me off this your list.

  11. piratefreely750676fd92 says:

Couldn’t have said it better. The rest of 2024 has got to be better; hurricanes Helene & Milton, and now the orange turd is back. It’s gonna be a loooong four years.

  12. J Hamilton says:

Well said and I couldn’t agree with you more. It’s an absolute NIGHTMARE of epic proportions. Historians (if Trump doesn’t destroy all libraries) will mark this date in history as a pivotal point in America’s fall from democracy as it molds itself to a populist totalitarian state. I foresee Ukraine being all but destroyed, the climate heating up even more (more hurricanes/floods/fires/droughts – maybe Maralago will be hit!), LGBT and women’s rights being significantly curtailed and a potential war with Iran if T gives $ to his pal Bibi. And tariffs will only make things MORE expensive in the USA and elsewhere. T is not a mental giant – understatement of the world. I will have to mute the news for 4 years cuz I can’t abide his voice and pathetically senseless ramblings. What has America become?

  13. Lisa says:

Thank you for putting into words what I have been incapable of doing while still processing the destruction of the planet and country these willful, arrogant and uninformed 51% have insured for us all. A pox on them and their families.

My parents are lucky. They are elderly and will not live to see this destruction or much of it. Those of us in our 60s and 70s will undoubtedly bear the brunt. Just wait til people who never saved or did not save enough find out they will be losing the Social Security they paid into their whole life, not to mention Medicare, just as these tariffs create even higher inflation and a worldwide recession. I will laugh in their whining faces.

  14. Celeste Connor says:

I love this post and agree with you completely!! There is no excuse for the people who voted for him. His voters are enablers and shame on women who voted for him as they should know better. It was definitely a vote between good and evil and evil won!!

  15. Nancy says:

    Preach it, sister!

  16. Kim says:

    Catherine-
Amen Amen Amen!!! You are right on, and, yes, people who voted for Trump ARE stupid. God save us all.

  17. marsha57 says:

I watched the numbers climb and climb for fraudy five, and I kept waiting for the big turn around. When I woke up the next day and looked at the news, I felt almost as awful as I did in 2016. I guess part of me knew it would win. I am gutted; I am scared; I am pissed; I am in disbelief. I honestly think most of the people who voted for him are racists and misogynists, anti-gay, anti-trans, and especially anti-women. I wonder the average of the women who voted for him. I’m guessing they are past child bearing age and are rather affluent. THEY won’t have to worry about getting pregnant, and if their child does, they will find a way to take care of it. I lost a Facebook friend, who, while not a voter for fraudy five, felt I was belittling millions of people. I WAS belittling them because they voted for a convicted felon (how the hell could he even run…I’m guessing the Founding Fathers never thought such a thing would happen), rapist, and business failure. They voted for him because it made them able to be OK with all those hate-filled moments and thoughts they have every day about people who aren’t just like him.

I worry about my beautiful granddaughters. I want great-grandchildren, but I’m fearful of what will happen should something go wrong with their pregnancies. I’m also so very scared they will be raped because now it’s almost legal, almost expected to rape then force the girl to give birth to a child.

I do worry about Social Security and Medicare because that’s right where we are. Luckily, we both have pensions, but that Medicare is important.

I’m with you…when the trash who voted him in realize what their vote did to their lives and start bemoaning that with their “I didn’t think,” I’m going to be thinking, if not saying, “I told you so.”

I never thought I’d see the day when this country embraced Nazism and called it something else.

  18. Momcat says:

I’m sitting up here north of the 49th just shaking my head over what happened two weeks ago and the daily gong show announcements of his new advisors. A brain worm survivor who is there simply because he’s a Kennedy wants to get rid of standard vaccinations. A child predator who (R) members of the senate are more than a little concerned about. A new border czar ( who comes up with these titles? Oh yeah, prezident elect..) who wants to seriously close up what has for years been the longest unprotected border in the world because we all know the bad guys AND their guns come from Canada…the eye rolls keep on coming.
After watching the buffoon elect perform for the past few months I cannot understand how any thinking person could vote for this guy but as Cathe points out a lotta folks were too lazy to think or maybe just can’t. We too are looking at the possibility of a populist conservative axxhole becoming prime minister. I’m even hoping that the Bloq Québecois picks up seats to squelch the weasel Poilievre…because if he gets in…well there goes North America my friends! We are all moving to Greenland.
Regardless, real estate agents north of the border have reported record numbers of phone calls from Americans looking too move. I belong to a Canadian retirees FB page and there has been an increase of interest from folks looking to retire here and many self described ‘snow birds’ looking to sell off winter properties in the USA and searching for other options.
I agree with Vava…I do not believe Trump will complete his mandate of four years. He either will die or his cognitive abilities will come under close scrutiny and he will be forced to step down…I’m sorry to say that in any case that snake Vance will take over, hey maybe he’ll ask Elon to be VP…
I feel so bad for my age cohort in the US many of whom are already living at risk and depending so much on their social security. What about health care? Aww RFK Sr must be rolling in his grave….
    I pray for your country
    I pray for the world

  19. Barbara Contreras says:

Vote in two years! Drain the MAGA swamp. If you do the math, DJT only captured 50.2% of the vote. It was not a landslide by any means. More like a squeaker. (And against Candidate Harris who only started campaigning in August not in 2020 like DJT.) We have to stop this MAGA mess before it becomes a permanent fixture in our political landscape. We can stop it! Know who your House reps/Senators are. (https://www.congress.gov/members/find-your-member) Let them know your opinions and that you vote. House members are up for reelection every two years. Vote out those who don’t represent you! The Midterm Elections have never been more important. Btw, we also need campaign finance reforms. No one should be able to buy a seat in Congress. Vote!

  20. Jackie says:

Agree with everything you wrote. It is freaking senseless that people voted for a convicted felon because of inflation. It is so freaking senseless that it doesn’t pass the smell test. He won because of racism and misogyny, full stop. If the Democrats had Jesus as a candidate Trump still would have won, it’s all about hate and greed. There is no silver lining to the destruction that Trump will do, the tech autocracy wanted a vulgar, corrupt, felon who will make them richer and deregulate everything. There will be no compassion from me for the hate filled racist and misogynist who’s family members are deported or when they lose their businesses because of the tariffs but loved Trump, Putin, think the lack of melanin in their skin makes them superior, and are scared to death of women.

  21. Pat KIein says:

I totally agree with everything said on this blog. you are my favorite and I always smile when I see an e-mail from you

  22. Jan Davies, UK says:

Hi, I watched the US election unfold and boy it is just as bad here in the UK with Smarmer and Thieves (sic) hitting out on all the wrong people, plunging us into the usual Labour nightmare, reneging on everything they promised in their pre-election manifesto. At 70 years old I have lived through both Conservative and Labour governments and thank the stars that I am at the twilight of my life because the younger generation have no idea yet what the hell has/will hit them. Thanks for your take on the situation over there, personally I feel you got it spot on, let’s keep raging🤬. Jan

  23. A good read, thank you.

  24. Drucye Cox says:

    I agree with you completely!

  25. BellaGP says:

It’s unbelievable that so many American’s could not see Trump is an awful man intent upon destroying the country. I am very very worried. So worried and anxious I had to get on Prozac last week. My anxiety is awful.

  26. Catherine says:

I think you summed it up. When the time comes I will have no sympathy for those who voted for him. And I believe the time will come when many will regret that they did. They were warned.

  27. Christine says:

    Thank you Kathy.

  28. Maisie says:

So, if I understand this correctly: You dislike President Trump because of his treatment of veterans, women and minorities and you register your objection by attacking women, veterans and minorities and calling them garbage.I think the election proved that this may not be a winning strategy.
I am a women veteran a lawyer, with 2 family members in the military and a husband who is a combat injured disabled veteran.
    I am not garbage.

    • Catherine says:

I dislike president-elect trump because he is a vile, dishonest, criminal-minded and evil person. That is why.

This is a man who called my brother a loser and sucker. My DEAD brother BTW, and anyone who dares call my brother a loser and sucker deserves the worst from me. Get that straight. Our military is brave and a lot more so than that orange thing who had daddy go to a doctor to claim he had bone spurs to keep him out of the war. Trump is a coward. He’s a little baby.

It is really a shame that you didn’t comprehend my words and let them sink in. I’m not against women. I am against women who are not supporting other women who want to be in charge of their bodies.

My popcorn is at the ready when all of the Trump supporters out there get what they rightfully deserve. Namaste.

  29. Celeste Connor says:

I love your post and agree wholeheartedly. I am shocked that 52% of white women voted for him? What? How can that be possible—shame on them. Also, something just smells really dirty with Musk’s involvement, the million dollars paid daily and the “secret” Trump said he had with Johnson, etc. Can you imagine if the Democrats did or said any of those things? The Democrats are definitely held to higher standards and Trump and his supporters are so hypocritical. Also, how can it be that Kamala seemed to always be ahead by three points (within margin of error) during most of her campaign and even Allan Lichtman, known for accurately predicting election results, said Harris was going to win. And shame on Latino men who voted for the orange clown. They probably thought Kamala looked too youthful and attractive, and they weren’t going to be bossed around by someone who could be their girlfriend. Right now I just feel so disgusted about how things went down and I have stopped watching the news as the thought of hearing or seeing the orange clown makes me nauseous and angry. We are living in very sad times but I also believe that eventually there will be a reckoning and truth and goodness will prevail.

  30. bridget says:

Oh Cathe, I agree with your every word. My hub and I also have covid, well, we caught it on a London – Miami flight the day before Halloween. We came home to vote, and we voted by ballot box and got home and immediately, 48 hrs after the flight felt really sick, and tested positive for the 1st time. So, we had to watch the orange monster get voted in while suffering the throws of covid, a double whammy!
Btw we still feel sick. This new strain of covid is a beast!
I feel such resentment, now on 20th Nov, it hasn’t got better, I feel removed from everyone here now. I look at folk and think “are you a secret T voter?” We spent 4 months in London, I was born there, my husband is Italian, we live in PBC in Florida, we retired here some years ago. We are American citizens (worked with an Italian company for 20 yrs in NYC) and proud of it, but now..
All over the news in the UK they were in dread and awe about a possible T victory and now cannot understand HOW he did it!
Just last night on CNN Abby Phillips had a panel where they were all agreeing that the reason for a T victory, is that ‘the poor American male felt dictated to, and not listened to etc.’ poor babies, and us women whose reproductive health care is over, (because it is female healthcare) hopefully no one gets into maternal distress in this state that has a 6 week ban, as the docs will not be able to assist you. It’s such a disgrace, where were all the young women (??) all the young men that voted for him. It makes me sad and also so depressed. Just let em wait and let’s see what they think of what he ‘does for them’ in 6 months’ time, there will be SO many with ‘buyer’s remorse’ and I hope so.. We have the best economy in years under Biden, all the wonderful plans Kamala had for the future, it’s just so very tragic, I’m sorry to be such a Debby Downer, but it is what it is. Thank you for providing a place where we can let it out.
Excuse typos, I wrote this in a rush, as I have SO much more to say.

  31. Bougie92 says:

I agree with everything said here, except that he will step down. He might get pushed out, but he will never step down. He can’t stand being a loser. Didn’t he allude to the fact that he might run again? One group of voters I do not get is the white woman. How can you vote for such a guy?! It’s utterly beyond me.
On socials and in the written press I read about all those Americans who are moving to Europe. Mainly Italy, Spain and France. I found out that to be able to move to France you need to prove that you have a monthly revenue equivalent to the SMIC, the French minimum salary, which is 1426€ (1500 USD) per month. That will give you a visa for one year. Knowing some French is also a good idea as is having an account in a French bank and an address.

  32. Lorraine M Bielawski says:

    Amen. You nailed it again

  33. Vivi says:

I have been mute since the election. Overwhelmed with sadness, anger and disgusting. I cannot find words to express my disbelief that this is the country I live in now. I’m 68 years old and my hope is that I do not die with him as president. I hope to live to see him fall along with all his minions.

    • Catherine says:

Get your popcorn ready Vivi. All those imbeciles who voted for Trump because they didn’t want a woman of color to run the country instead of a felon. Remember–he said he loves the uneducated and they voted for him. They voted to take their medical benefits and social security away. They voted to have family members deported. I am here for the entertainment of the morons who voted for him.

  34. FMM says:

I also developed a three point coping strategy when realized I couldn’t take Xanax every day for the next four years: 1. Seek out and spend time with those who share values. That’s the only criteria. Go where the love is. 2 Detach from the hand-wringers, second guessers, and the incessant media coverage. Don’t give any of them—especially office holding/seeking nut-wings—access to the best part of our beautiful brains. 3. Practice micro citizenship. Put energy into the betterment our own life and the lives of those we hold dear.

  35. MP6699 says:

Interesting no counter comments. I hate Trump too but the Dems should blame themselves for pretending Biden was fine for so long. When he Finally bowed out it was too late for a viable candidate. Kamala was an awful no show VP. How was she going to be a good Pres?

    • Catherine says:

No counter comments because I just saw this. Today. December 29, 2024. Please be aware that a VP is NOT the same as a president. Kamala was shoved into the fire because the dems forced Biden out. AND regardless, she would be a better president than Temu Orange Tan felon. My popcorn is at the ready because I’m watching those who now regret voting for Shitler. And they voted against themselves because they couldn’t stand a woman of color being president rather than a lying sack of shit. Is that an ok response for you?
