Tomorrow will be a game-changer in these United States of America.
I am voting based on the person whom I feel is the most pragmatic choice. The one who has already lived in The White House for eight years. The one who has worked in politics and the one who is level headed. She is my choice and it is my right as an American to vote for her.
I’ll be hitting the poll at seven in the morning tomorrow!
And that is what is so wonderful about our country. We have the choice. It is our decision and we will help to change the way our nation moves for the next four years.
We are also lucky as a people because we have the privilege of voting. And it is a privilege and our civic duty.
But there’s another reason that I love to vote. It validates my personal right to complain. If Trump is elected and screws up, I can gladly complain and say “told you so” to all my friends who supported him.
If Hillary is elected and screws up, I can still complain because I voted.
But if you don’t vote–you have NO RIGHT TO COMPLAIN BECAUSE YOU FAILED TO VOTE!
What’s that you say? You didn’t vote but you are complaining? Honey–talk to the hand!
And as this dirty campaign winds down, we will soon find out who will be leading our country–whether we are pleased or not. But if we voted, we will find comfort in knowing that we tried!
Many of us won’t be pleased with the results–but if you voted, you did your part in trying to change!
And we will still be friends and life will go on. So please vote. Please do your part in making a change. No matter who you vote for, just vote!
I’ll be going to sleep soon so that I am well-rested to wake up early tomorrow!
Here’s an oldie but goodie that’s a great one for election day eve!! POLITICIAN by Cream!
Oh my goodness! That day is finally here. North of the border we are anxiously watching as this plays out.
I’m a bit scared KB. I just don’t know how this will play out!!! XOXOXOXO!!!
I think we’re all scared too.
Oh Catherine, as a Brit who am I to say anything about another country’s election. However, in this instance, I think it would be true to say many people outside the States are holding their breath. And yes, I’ve heard from many different sources that some people especially Democrats are not going to vote because they don’t ‘like’ the candidate. Oh please. And if you’re a woman, that’s even worse, as certainly over here, in the Uk, women fought and suffered to get the vote and one even died for the vote. Never ever waste your vote, women, it was a hard won right. And now today and this election. Oh wow. No candidate is ever perfect and these two are particularly flawed – but from outside the States there seems to be incredulity around the Trump person (as in what’s he going to do or say next) but a lot of hate around Hillary (as in, she’s a criminal). Well, is it possible, from an outsider’s PoV to ask the question, ‘who, despite everything, is the best candidate?’ I know who I’d choose!!! Fingers crossed xxxxxxxxx
HIi Penny. Yeah. A moron had the audacity to bring up Bengazi to me. My answer was–“And how did you feel when Bush and Cheney MURDERED over 2,000 people on 9/11 because they knew an attack was coming and they chose to do nothing”. Silence.
This is an awful election. Was Hillary my first choice? No. I absolutely adored Bernie because he had a plan and spoke policy–but too many people thought he was too socialist–nothing wrong with that!
Morally, I cannot vote for a man who speaks so harshly of women, who uses small business men for services then doesn’t pay them. Trump is a vile pig and a thief. I’m scared because I have lost all faith in the citizens of my beautiful country. I’m hoping we make beautiful history instead!!!! XOXOXOXO!!!
😳
I am so with you on this, Catherine. As another Brit I also totally endorse everything Penny says. I still haven’t recovered from the Brexit vote… xx
Oh June…I’m hoping that we aren’t going to have a USAXIT!!! We were in France when we found out about Brexit and were completely shocked!!! XOXOXOXOXO!!
I woke up this morning so filled with emotion that I’ve been crying. Not only do I get to vote for the things and candidate that I believe in, but I also get to vote for the first woman President! Most important election in my life so far. Let’s go make history!!
OMG–Lori. I was crying after I voted because my emotions were all over the place. If she loses the tears were from sadness and fear-if she wins the tears are happy. And hopefully we will make history this evening and finally have a woman in charge!! XOXOXOXO!!!
I’m voting for her as well. I can’t fathom The Donald being in the White House, it would be a national disaster. If he wins though, he’ll soon see what makes a democracy tick – he won’t be able to do all the shit he threatens to do. I have confidence in the American voters, they’ll put this guy where he needs to be – OUT OF THE PICTURE. He’s not fit to govern.
Hi Vava. You sound like my daughter Oona. She has confidence too. I’ve lost all faith. It’s probably because my idiot siblings are all Trump supporters. And being on the line to vote today all the people with missing teeth and eyeglasses held together with masking tape were all wearing Trump pins. It’s the Trump part of Pennsylvania. I just want Hillary to win!! XOXOXOXO!!
CHECK……….DONE ABSENTEE!
Yeah Elizabeth!!!! We got the vote in!! XOXOXOXOXOXO!!
I voted. And then I cried a little, because never did I think that during my lifetime, I’d be able to vote for a woman for PRESIDENT.
Here’s hoping that is ELECTED!
Hi Bridget. Yeah–I was telling Lori up a couple of comments ago, that I also cried. It was a very, very emotional vote and let’s hope that we have our first female President of these ALREADY GREAT United States!! XOXOXOXO!!!
We voted early. Turned our ballots in last week. From the looks of things that was a smart move as there are tons of folks in line everywhere… Bit nerve wracking. Go Hillary!
That was smart Lady Calen. I arrived at 6:45 AM and waited an hour and 15 minutes to vote. Bonaparte arrived at 2:30 this afternoon at waited an hour and a half to vote. I don’t even think I waited on a line that long to vote for Barack Obama!! LovewillTrumphate!!!XOXOXOXOX!!!
Am kind of in shock here tonight. (Though the race hasn’t been declared yet…) Wanna get drunk with me?
I can hardly breathe. Terrified this country will completely lose its way and put the unhinged, unqualified, dangerously narcissistic Trump in office.
Elizabeth–I am thinking along your lines. Did you catch Bill Maher Friday? He also feels the same. That’s why people need to vote. I’m a wreck!! XOXOXO!!
Good luck – nerve wracking even over here
Juliet. I told Bonaparte that if I didn’t have that last ten pounds to lose, I would be drinking cocktails all night because I’m so wracked with nerves right now!! XOXOXOXO!!!
We voted last week…during dinner time…blew right through…so glad too since here it is almost 6PM and I’m still at work….oh boy….here we go!
