Far from perfect, but enjoying life as a non-perfect and flawed individual at 60 years young. I'm still wondering what I'll be when I grow up!
The characters in my life's screenplay include my better half.
He is a refined Frenchman who grew up in Paris and summered in St. Tropez.
I grew up in Long Island and summered in Long Island.
I am not refined.
My three grown children are also a big part of my life.
For their sake, they happily live where their careers have taken them! But I can still mother them from a distance!
I write about the mundane. I write about deeply shallow issues. But whatever I write or muse about--it'll always be a bit on the humorous and positive side!
It's all good!
Thanks Debe!!! XOXOXOXO!!!
Great job!! Subject was interesting and you kept my attention the entire time. Would love to have longer hair to pull up into a messy bun so a topper might be the solution. Great seeing Chippy making a live debut. Please keep your humor and wit…it was marvelous darling (said in NY accent). Looking forward to the next blog.
Thank you Peggy!! I’m glad that you enjoyed. Yes. Chippy will definitely be involved in this process –wait till he looks out the window at other dogs!!! XOXOXOXOXO!!!!
Sorry got to be nosey…the chest or whatever you want to call it is fab. Where did you get and love the color!!!!
So nice to hear your voice!
Thank you so much Martha. Usually I’m told to keep my voice lowered or just to keep quiet. I love that you like my tawking!!!!! XXOXOXOXO!!!!
Way to go, Catherine — good luck with the blog!
I meant, good luck with the vlog!
Thanks so much Claudia!!!! XOXOXOXOXO!!!!
You did a terrific job on your first vlog. You go girl! Love your blog too.
Thank you so much Karen!!!! I appreciate your support!!! XOXOXOXO
good luck with the blog – I think it was great – I love your voice. I’m having trouble finding natural “toppers” so thanks for sharing – you look and sound adorable 🙂
Thanks Ilyse! Oh…check out Uniwigs and Tony of Beverly–those toppers are great!!!! XXOXOXO!!!
I love this! You are really great to be sharing all this information. I so appreciate your honesty and humor and it’s really fun to see you vlogging!
Hi Gillian! Thank you so much…I’ll definitely keep it honest and funny for sure!! XOXOXO!!!
Wonderful! So informative and authentic!! You and Chippy crack me up! 😂
Thank you Rhonda! LOL–I think Chippy will be a regular on the vlogs!!! XOXOXO!!!
That was phenomenal – I wish you had warned me to get a glass of wine before watching as I felt we should have been sharing one 🙂 I also think you were really natural (and brave of course), I loved your presentation – your voice and your smile are infectious, for a first vlog – brilliant (and well done Chippy on his starring role – he made me laugh so much nr1 kid came and asked what was the matter)
Hi Juliet!! You know I’ll be making you laugh more in the future with those videos!!! I am so glad that you enjoyed. Thank you so much for watching it!!! XOXOXOXO!!!!
That was great Catherine. You are a natural – no visible nerves and easy to understand, although I remember an old video you made in the car with Bonaparte and I loved your voice then. You have so many lovely wigs it almost makes me wish I had bald spots too -almost. Look forward to your next blog.
Hahahaha! Jenny. I’m looking for the other video because I may put it on the youtube channel as a laugh!! Thank you so much!!!! XOXOXOXO!!!!
Fabulous! Unpretentious and charming. Looking forward to your next starring role! Xx
Thank you Doreen! Oh god. You know I’ll never do a pretentious video–or maybe as a parody……Glad you enjoyed!!! XOXOXOXO!!!!
Yes, I need a facelift but perhaps women will appreciate our 60ish humor and wrinkles!
It’s scary being out on social media where we will be judged for being authentically wrinkled against the skin pulled and plumped women.
We both have our audiences, let them see you for you!
Or we can do a video where we walk around pulling each other’s necks while looking up into the sky!
Hi Robin!! I like the neck pulling idea! Yeah. The worst part of making the video is really letting people see you the way it really is. With a camera, you can use your best side for a still shot but not so with filming! It’s all good!!! XOXOXOXO!!!!
You did a wonderful first vlog! It was great to hear your voice – just what I imagined – and I appreciate your honesty and truly being yourself! Keep it up!!
Thank you Aimee!!! Well, no sense trying to be someone else at this point–right??? It’s actually fun doing this video thing!!!! XOXOXOXO!!!!
Congratulations on your first vlog! I think you did a wonderful job—-you are natural and sincere and authentic and it comes across. Looking forward to future videos….
Thank you so much Deborah!!!!! I’m so glad that my honesty comes across–you know I’ll keep it real!!!! XOXOXOXOXO!!!
Loved it Cathy! I am new to your blog. I am younger than 60, but I am enjoying your blog. You go girl! I also suffer from hair loss and found this post very helpful. Elly
Hi Elly!!! Thank you so much!!! I did upload another video–this one about making a messy bun with a hair topper! Hope you continue to enjoy the blog and the videos that I post. Thank you again!!! XOXOXOxO!!!!
Great job! I thought you did great and I love your accent. I also make YT videos—and I’m not great–but I make them mostly for me and my family. I talk about mature beauty some—but mostly grandkids…LOL. That’s what is important. If you have a sleepless night…you might check out one of mine…..It will put you right to sleep. My channel name is Maw Maw Karen. But, keep making the videos. I think you are providing information to a lot of people who need to know that, but are embarrassed. I love reading your blog and now I can look forward to your vlogs, too!!! XOXO
Love your video, hope theres many more.
Hi Karen! I LOVE your channel! And that haircut you got is outstanding!!! I’m your newest subbie!!!!! So glad you told me about your channel!!!! XOXOXOXO!!!!
What a treat to hear your voice and see your vivaciousness on the screen. You are providing such useful information, and I appreciate your sharing.
I think you could have a very lucrative and satisfying business doing hands on seminars for women interested in wigs but who are hesitant to go to a wig store.
Please keep up the vlogging. It was great!
Thanks so much Marsha! It’s fun but a bit daunting because I’m trying to figure out the graphics and I’m an impatient sort but thank you and I’ll be doing more! XOXOXXO!!!
Hi, nice to meet you; I’m Brigitte. 😊
Love it, just love it! You are very brave putting yourself out this way. It’s completely different from communicating by text only. And …… you are just as I thought you’d be. When are you coming over for coffee and cake?
Looking forward to many more Vlogs.
LOL. Hi Brigitte!!! I’m so glad that you are liking it!!!! I’m having fun with this. I uploaded two more!!! I have to cut down on the cake but I’ll take the cawfee!!! XOXOXOXO!!!!
Congratulations on getting on youtube, you are a natural. You didn’t look or sound nervous. Love the accent. Looking forward to watching more videos. xxx
Thanks Dianne!! LOL. I wasn’t nervous, which surprisingly, I thought I would be. Uh oh. I gotta get up for a minute. Chippy is growling at someone outside!!! XOXOXOXO!!!!
You were great Cathe, no sign of nerves at all.
I loved it when you went off to get the wig and the dog noises, brilliant.
Just wondered if you intend to keep the blog going in the future as well? Hope so.
Fiona. This blog is my baby! I’m not giving it up. Not now. Not ever! Never!!! The videos are just something I wanted to try so that I might be able to give better reviews!! XOXOXOXO!!!
You did a fabulous job! I watch A LOT of podcasts (mostly about knitting) and trust me, you looked great – I’ve seen some where it looks like the person doing the podcasting got up, and then changed clothes to lie back down … (I generally don’t even finish watching those, btw.)
I subscribed, because even if you don’t think so, you are doing a really great job. And of course, with Chippy as co-host, you can’t go wrong! 🙂
Thanks Bridget!!! I’m so glad that you subscribed. It makes me feel good to have support!! LOL. Chippy is quite the star–I think he should have his own channel!!!! XXOXOXO!!!!
I had to wait until I was home from work to view your vlogg…sitting by the pond in the last rays of sunlight it was so enjoyable…real, fun, very brave, very informative. I was waiting for you to put on the wig but I guess that’s for another day…Good for you Catherine…I’m a follower. 🙂
Hi Jeanne. I actually did another video where I DO put on a topper and make a messy bun/topknot. I did that because I’m cooking today!!!! XOXOXOXO!!!!
just adorable and informative as well, you are just like I imagined you to be ! Love you being photobombed by The Chip , he seemed happy too! million congrats and best wishes .you are wonderful!
You are adorable Catherine. I ove you even more. Good job!

Oh Voone!! Thank you so much. I’m glad that you enjoyed!! XOXOXOXOXO!!!!
Welldone Cathe! You look great, think your skin looks really good, and i look forward to seeing more of your Vlogs. Love to Chippy!
Will the Vlog updates come in email as i am signed up for them, but i dont have twitter or the instagram thing and i am not very techy, so if there is something i have to do to follow these can you tell what:) x
OMG! I’m suffering from hair lost and this video is really help me.
Love it, you are looking great and a natural communicator! I am almost convinced I need a wig.
You were bRilliant, so natural and relaxed. It was like listening to a friend giving advice. I don’t need a wig but it was so interesting, and it was great to see Chippy make a guest appearance. I thought your accent would be much more New Yawke than it is. I look forward to seeing many more. Good luck – you bring great pleasure to so many people.
Loved your first vlog…looking forward to more!
You are such a natural! Your humor just shines through! I think you are off to a terrific start! Enjoyed this immensely.
