How the Hell Did I Lose 5 Pounds During This Stress-Filled, Crazy Week?

Trust me, I know this is a stretch. It’s obvious that losing weight is a difficult process.  But there’s just something about this past Christmas that I can’t say goodbye to.

It’s the decorations.

Literally. The day after Halloween I started planning the Holiday décor.  On November 6th, I flew out to Cincinnati to be with Oona for the weekend.  The plan for Christmas was to fly out to Cincinnati on December 21 to spend Christmas with her and Sam.  My oldest son, Jake, was to fly from L.A. and

Stop those thoughts!  I started writing a blog post about my absolute inability to “let go” of the Christmas Decorations…and was going to make a segue way into losing weight.

So much for my blog post regarding the dismantling of Christmas decorations!

But then shit happened.  And it happened in the form of a would-be-coup. And so, I changed directions.  Let’s take it from there, shall we?

Okay.  So, the most difficult part of losing weight at this juncture has been my innate talent for stress-eating.  It comes in the form of a little bit here and a little bit there until it builds up into a crescendo of binge-eating.  All because I simply do not have the wherewithal (I realize this word has more to do with finances, but I’m using it as a food reference) to stop shoving food into my mouth as a comfort!

Oh yeah. One cookie leads to another. Then another. Then the milk comes out and four more cookies……

And this week was a dozy!

First, was the nail-biting evening of the Georgia Senate election.  If you are a regular reader and friend of this blog, then you know how I feel about the present GOP. I shall not elaborate further. However, during the stressful hours of watching the results, I did not—I repeat—did not reach for tortilla chips, chocolate, peanut butter, peanut butter topped with chocolate syrup sprinkled with a covering of salted nuts, or lemon curd from the jar using my fingers.

Why bother with a spoon?  Let your fingers do the dipping!

I didn’t eat a thing.  Instead, I turned to my husband and said “I’m going to sleep now”.  And I did. And I woke up to good news.

A Jew and A Black man voted in as Senators in a Southern state. Wow! And the credit goes to one strong woman!  Stacey Abrams!

I love this so much….

….and it’s thanks to the power of a woman!  Thank you Stacey!!!!

The next day turned out to be more shocking and stressful. I felt as though “A Tale of Two Cities” had been transformed into modern day Dickens—It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.  Riding on the coattails of a remarkable senate win was a disgraceful turn of events in our country’s Capitol.

Whats with the moron who thinks he’s a howling viking? Seriously, would YOU want any of these vermin on the arm of your daughter?  THIS is what supports that thing who is still in the White House–let that sink in.

What saved me from stress-eating at this point was the fact that it was truly a horrific day at work. The inhumane amount of tasks kept me from peeking at my iPhone to check on what was happening in the world.  So, when I arrived home and saw the news broadcast, I couldn’t believe my eyes—and my eyes are now in very good working order thanks to my cataract surgery!

Putting it mildly, this was the face of shock when I saw what was on TV. You do NOT want to hear what words came out of my mouth!

Who the f__k does this? As I watched the turn of events on the TV, my initial reaction was to reach for anything and everything I could shove into my mouth.  But I stopped. I focused on what was happening to my country and I didn’t focus on me.  It was an enlightening moment.

I wanna take a bit of time now to give my thoughts on the heinous event that Trump is responsible for before returning to the post at hand.

This filth. This poor excuse for a man. This little cowardly sissy made a plea, not to Americans who truly love America, but to those belonging to his cult. He told them, in no uncertain terms, to head to the Capitol to protest.  He knew full-well, what his racist, gun-toting, ignorant cult is capable of. And then, as they marched to destroy our Capitol, to loot, to destroy and murder, he quietly went back to the safety of his domain.  To the White House—to his cowardly place of temporary residence to sit back and watch the shitshow which he started.

This a$$hole is proud and happy to be looting. I hope he’s as happy when he bends down in the shower when he’s in prison.

Those Proud Boys along with moronic women in tow, broke into the Capitol. They looted. They destroyed personal property and they murdered.

This pos busted into Pelosi’s office and stole her mail. Luckily he’s been caught and I hope he spends a long time in jail as he so deserves!

And they weren’t stopped.  The Capital Police allowed it.  The Capitol police were seen in news footage calmly walking people with Trump hats gingerly down the steps.  Had this been a Black Lives Matter group, guns would have been used.

Yes. These are terrorists and don’t ever forget it!

And later on, bully-boy came out with a video (obviously written for him because he’s not literate enough to create a full sentence) stating that he called for the National Guard, which was a lie. He ended his little monotone speech sounding more like Soupy Sale’s White Fang than a leader as he pontificated that the election was still rigged.  This is no president. He is an evil, vicious, psychopath and I’m thrilled his reign of terror is coming to a close.

The cowardly lyin’ can’t even read from a Teleprompter. Proof that Wharton will accept any imbecile with a large bank account.

Seriously. If you get the chance, head to YouTube and catch the Soupy Sales Video of “White Fang is Getting Married” White Fang is more literate than Trump! White Fang also has more emotion!

Seriously.  Click on the link above and you’ll see what I mean!

And if these events aren’t enough to make me shovel any semblance of products to ingest and digest, I don’t know what is!

But the truth is, starting the week at 171 pounds, I’ve managed to shed five  of them as of today, January 9, 2021!

Not my goal but for now, it’s making me mighty happy!

And I did it by not snacking. My daily routine consists of going to the vending machine and treating myself to the least fatty snacks. Either chemically-flavored enhanced popcorn or oatmeal or a bag of pretzels.  And upon coming home from the office, grabbing a bit of lunch meat to “tide me over” until dinner.

I stuck to drinking tea—no milk (that was a sacrifice) when I felt hunger pangs.

I ate light dinners—depending on salad and proteins.

For convenience sake, I love these lentils–plain or added to a salad, they are great–especially when I don’t have time to cook them.

And speaking of salads…Bonaparte makes a great one that he’s been more than happy to make for me!

I relied on willpower. I threw points out the window. I decided to do it my way.

I am not depriving myself of my weekend aperitif. In fact, last night I enjoyed two Kir Royals and this evening we are headed out to our favorite restaurant for dinner. For safety’s sake we have our alcove reserved of which no other diners will be anywhere close to us.  We’ll be masked until our food arrives.

I’m also experimenting.  I made Whole Wheat bread because I refuse to deprive myself.  Earlier this week, I had a craving for tuna fish on whole wheat..

And I happy with the result but…it got stale quickly.  I’ll have to slice and freeze the next loaf!

But my point is, by being practical and watching portions I have shed five pounds. It’s a start. It’s going to be a struggle—I’m aware of that.

But in the meantime, I’m keeping the positivity by dressing for the office every day. Most of my clothing no longer fits.  My wool-blend pencil skirts, in all reality, won’t fit for the remainder of the winter.  Neither will my pants.

I’m telling you this elasticized-waist City Skirt from J. Crew Factory has been a savior!  I may wear it this evening too!

But being able to opt for leggings and knit dresses will work.

Another go-to I’ve been wearing is leggings and oversized sweaters.

Same leggings. Different shoes and sweater. Oh..and different wig!

This knit dress, also from J. Crew Factory turned out to be my favorite. In fact, I went to the J. Crew Factory site to order one in camel and the dress is sold out!

And about those Christmas decorations?  I did bust a move by removing a couple of pillow covers. That’s about it.  The tree hasn’t been taken down yet. I’ll do that during the week after I undress it of the ribbon and ornaments.  I’ll put the pillows away.  I’ll make the bannisters bare once again.

The extent of my take-down of Christmas 2020!

Besides–Chippy won’t let me take his favorite blanket or pillow away from him.  Note my LV bucket bag with the wig atop in the background!  Also note the tag still attached to the pillow we’ve had for about four Christmases now. I’m afraid I’ll be arrested if I take the tag off!

And I’ll move forward.

In the meantime, this little loss of five is making me happy as a little clam!

Let’s hope we don’t go through another crazy week like this! And I hope to lose at least one pound during this week!

  1. Les says:

Darn… I really liked you , but after reading your insults about Trump … I’m gone.

  2. says:

Hi. Cathe! I believe you have cracked the code! One minute at a time – and you will get where you want to be. Nicely done!

  3. Sharon Daly says:

Agree 100% with you. Have gained 15 lbs this election cycle. Xmas decorations stay up until Jan 20 this year. Our last indoor restaurant meal was in Spring Mill Cafe in March, although we enjoyed a couple more on their porch.
    Your blog is so comforting!

    • Catherine says:

I had a porch dinner there during the Spring with one of my friends. The little alcove is perfect for safe dining! I’m looking forward to a nice dinner this evening and I’ll choose wisely! Thank you sharon! XOXOXOXO

  4. Momcat says:

Aww, this has been a crazy week hasn’t it? While not experiencing the political chaos/unrest you are having in the U.S,in our part of Canada we are in total lockdown due to Covid. No restaurant dining here, not even on a heated patio ( at -12C not too attractive anyway) Curb side pick up for non essential items only. The big guys are allowed to stay open IF they sell food. So Costco, Walmart etc are safe but the little shops will suffer. Now they are telling us that the vaccine is running low and no more until February and I wonder when will this madness end?
Anyway you lit a lightbulb in my weight loss fatigued brain when you wrote about not stuffing your face with food to comfort YOU because It’s NOT about you. Honest to God that is so profound! How many times is there some bullshit going on at home, at work, in Washington etc. that is NOT our issue but we sooth ourselves with food? I know that every weight loss program will say ‘ask yourself, Am I really hungry?’ before eating 10 cookies. Does it help? Never works for me because…love me some warm cookies! Better to remind ourselves ‘This issue is not about me. I don’t need to suffer the consequences because (fill in the blank) is such an as***le? Nine times outta ten we think that stuff is about US or NEEDS us to be involved emotionally and the reality is it isn’t about us and it doesn’t require us to participate by stuffing face or making bad food choices in the name of ‘comfort’. We need to pick our personal battles and keep our eyes on our own ((salad) plates. This is what ( I believe) will lead to less personal drama, more serenity and a loss of unwanted poundage ( not to mention decreasing cortisol which loves to hoard belly fat)
You are doing fine girlfriend!! Bon appétit au resto je veux y aller aussi!!

    • Catherine says:

Merci Mae! Yeah. I had a kind of epiphany about it not being about me and it seems a lightbulb did go off! Don’t even mention the vaccine here. In PA it’s a “county” thing and I live in Montgomery County–disorganized to the nth degree. My husband should have gotten vaccinated due to his age but noooooooooooooooooo. My patience is wearing thin!

  5. Toni Soucie says:

Cathe….I share so much of what you said about the dangerous, unpatriotic events of this past Wednesday. It sickens me to think how indoctrinated these people have become over a psychotic dictator wannabe. But, enough of him. Good luck on your continued weight loss journey. You will be successful. I’m down 16 pounds since July. It’s been a slow steady loss but that’s what counts. Stay well.

    • Catherine says:

Hi Toni! Yeah. I am just so happy and relieved to be getting rid of that thing! 16 pounds since July is a milestone! Congrats to YOU! I’m being patient with this loss! XOXOXOXO

  6. Maggie Fieger says:

You and I are on the same page as far as politics, I have been fighting with a friend all morning, actually for months, who thinks Trump sis wonderful and has made America great. I don’t know how we are still speaking because I think she’s nuts. She’s posts responses on my page and then my friends tear her to pieces! I am worried to death about the Inauguration.
I undecorated my tree this morning. I’ll see how long it stays up.
You are doing well on your journey! I’ve done a not real strict keto and have lost 20 pounds this year. I do miss bread. What is Bonaparte’s salad like? I’m always looking, for inspiration!
Enjoy your dinner out and stay safe

    • Catherine says:

Hi Maggie. Oh. I’ve ceased arguing with his supporters. I take them out of my life because A. it isn’t worth arguing and B. It shows that these supports lace the moral compass, the ethics and the value system that I believe in. At this point in my life, I don’t need those types to bring me down!
Oh. Bonapartes salad is nothing more than butter lettuce, hard boiled egg, crumbled Boursin cheese -not a lot and a vinaigrette dressing he makes with Red Wine vinegar, Dijon mustard and a bit of EV Olive oil. It’s delicious! XOXOXOXO

  7. marsha57 says:

Five pounds! That’s a fabulous start! I always hated that old WW schtick “Does it taste as good as being thin feels?” Well, if I had the answer to that, I wouldn’t need WW! There is nothing like warm cookies or brownies or creamy cheesecake! What I’ve done is that old chestnut…moderation. Granted, I gained five pounds over Christmas, but last year, it was 15! As for that a$$wipe in the White House…he is a vile, disgraceful waste of skin. He has not only made being misogynistic and racist ok, he’s made this country a laughingstock to the rest of the world. We started watching in the afternoon Wednesday (I have not consistently watched the news since November 2016) and watched until midnight. What infuriates me most, other than that orange 💩, is if those terrorists had been black, there would have been so much more bloodshed and slaughter. It was a terrible day for this country. January 20th can’t come fast enough!

    • Catherine says:

Bingo Marsha! I would never have needed WW either with that addage! But congrats on gaining only 5 over Christmas! Dang! Thats good! I’m headed out to the store later to get the ingredients for a simple chicken soup, sans noodles just meat, carrots, onion and stock. I feel like soup for dinner tonight! And don’t get me started on those terrorists. If they were people of color it would have been a bloodbath–those cops would have gunned them all down. That’s why I think it was an inside job. Those officers need to be fired for not doing anything….and my dad was a NYC cop so under NORMAL circumstances I support blue but not in this case! XOXOXOXO

  8. CindyF says:

Cathe I have been checking your blog since that imbecile incited what is truly the most disgraceful thing I have ever been witness to in my life just to be able to hear an American voice of reason. I have followed your blog for a number of years from the safety of Australia and you are the only one who I consider to have a sound grip on reality. Even from this distance I have ‘discussions’ with friends about your absolute fraud of a president and cannot believe that people here in Australia think that he is a good president FFS. Please keep beating your drum long and loud.
PS – good luck with the weight loss I sense that things will be a lot easier for you in that regard after President Biden is inaugurated. I just hope that Trump is now headed for the courts and ultimately jail.
    Love Cindy F

    • Catherine says:

Hi Cindy! THANK YOU SO MUCH! It’s so comforting to hear a voice from Australia on our side. I pay taxes and I vote–therefore I can voice whatever the f__k I want to voice. He’s beyond a fraud. He’s a lying sack o’$hit, a cowardly lyin, a racist and a pig. And I cannot, for the life of me, wrap my head around his core supporter. They are either out of work or on minimum wage jobs. They need dental care and an education. He did NOTHING for these imbeciles. Then you have the wealthy selfish pigs who love his tax policies but despise him as an individual–they vote with their bank accounts. It’s just astounding! But he’s about to be gone and I’m thrilled. With my Joe, I’m going to be sure to drop some weight because much of my stress hase been lifted! XOXOXOXO

  9. juliet brown says:

5 pounds in this situation – that’s phenomenal, congratulations. What is with the first poster (now left – shucks) who has an issue with your comments – I thought America was the land of free speech??? I think history will judge some people who slavishly followed the big orange one very harshly. I really thought America was at a tipping point and it just wobbled back to normality by a thread, IGuess its going to take a while to undo so much damage… I was really worried for you guys

    • Catherine says:

Wait. Juliet. Go back. That first poster returned and another reply is defending that poster! WOW As I say this is my blog so if they don’t like it, get the hell off! And don’t come back!
But yeah. I’m thrilled with the 5 pounds and I know it’ll be slow moving from there!
Oh God (and the real God not the far right fake god), America is still damaged and it will take a long time to heal from this past four years! XOXOXOXO

      • Juliet says:

I just read this! Extraordinary – no opinion is valid to them except their own??? Seriously, and no I dont think you were impolite – its like coming into your house and criticising everything in there and saying everything is crap about you, showing them the door is the right thing. Maybe Bonaparte needs a segment where he makes food – the salad sounds lovely

  10. Joan Brown says:

Cathe, 5 pounds is an incredible loss! Proud of you. So disgusted by the coup at the Capitol. I can’t wait until justice is served on these animals, especially the Mob Boss, his enablers, and his low life dim-witted moronic base.

    • Catherine says:

Hi Joan! Thank you! I’m really beginning to enjoy making healthier choices. We’ll see how long it lasts-LOL! Ugh. You and me both–every American should be disgusted by that terrorist act. But we saw a CNN poll and 45 percent of Republicans didn’t think so. WTF is wrong with these people??? XOXOXOXO

  11. Amy Schenk says:

We are in this weight loss together. I magically gained 30 lbs since April and am on my way to fixing that. On board with your political perspective as well who would have thought Georgia would bring it home (go Stacey). Love your style and wigs. Here’s to a better year in every way!

    • Catherine says:

Amy. It IS magic–isn’t it? It’s magically delicious and that’s why we are where we are. But I hope it’s finally time to let go. I just don’t feel comfortable at this weight! Let’s hope by the summer, both of us have achieved success! And girl–I’m glad you are on the same political page! I was SHOCKED about Georgia and Stacey Abrams is the modern day Mother Teresa as far as I’m concerned! XOXOXOXOXO

  12. Marietta says:

I keep referring to #45 like that but I think I will adopt “that thing”, it is very appropriate. Let’s hope it doesn’t stay around much longer. We just need to hang in there. Congratulations on your 5 lb. loss, that’s amazing. I have switched from blue to green (I know you’re doing “intuitive” dieting but I’m not there yet!) and am challenging myself to see what will happen if I don’t quit this time. I am more or less in the weight range you are but at about 6 inches shorter than you, I don’t “wear” it quite the same way!

    • Catherine says:

Hi Marietta. Thank you. Any object that isn’t human is a thing–it’s only logial! And thank you–I had to stop the WW because I felt I was spending money for nothing. I need to do this myself and I’m pretty happy so far. I’m looking at perhaps a loss of a pound a week from here–it’s going to take a ton of work but for my well-being it needs to be done! We got this! XOXOXOXOXO

  13. You are Fabulous!! This post is beyond awesome!! love how you told the person who is going to stop following to go!!

  14. debwlv says:

With you 110%——-and yes, no tears will be shed for anyone leaving who supports that monster! I am TERRIFIED for Biden and Harris and the inauguration…..I am too cowardly to watch it, would have been unable to watch pre-coup attempt, let alone now. Thanks, Cathe, for being honest and open, if we can’t be outraged and vocal now, WHAT conditions would warrant it? Which is why an attempt has to made at consequences for the actions of all the insurrectionists, especially their leader. The next monster the Republicans vote in may not be as incompetent, and I personally have no desire to sit around and watch another sh&tshow unfold!

    • Catherine says:

Deb. I had to watch that coup. And now, I’ve posted on my FB page the photos of those terrorists who need to be arrested. I pray for Biden and Harris to be safe. I think Joe needs to call on Pope Francis to borrow the Pope Mobile! XOXOXOXO

  15. Leslie says:

Wonderful post! Congrats on the weight loss AND your attitude!

  16. Kiltzone says:

That’s great! I cannot even imagine to lose just a pound! Congratulations 🙂

    • Catherine says:

I don’t know where my original reply to you went. It’s probably floating in cyberspace. Anyway…we went out to dinner last night and I choose wisely. At this juncture, I’m hoping for a loss of a pound a week! XOXOXOXO

  17. Fiona says:

You never disappoint me Cathe! Couldn’t believe the events that were unfolding before my eyes the other day. As I’ve said before I simply cannot understand why anyone would support that ignorant, inarticulate, racist moron let alone put themselves in danger for him. Nancy Pelosi hit the nail on the head when she described him as deranged. I’m sure Biden is delighted that that orange buffoon won’t be attending the inaugeration, he won’t have to be civil to him!

Well done on the weight loss et bonne continuation.

    • Catherine says:

Hi Fi! Hey. Even Boris denounced Trump’s latest act! It’s beyond belief. The saddest thing is I grew up thinking I lived in the greatest country ever–and I feel I’ve been lied to. America is going to be healing for at least a decade after this filthy pig ruined it. Can you believe those idiots breaking into our Capitol? This is all Shitler’s doing. XOXOXOXO

  18. vavashagwell says:

I’m amazed you lost this much weight under these stressful circumstances! WOW. And bravo about the shit-show in D.C. on Wednesday. Anyone who supports Trump is an asshole. Obviously I’m done mincing words…LOL. He and his adult children are complete SCUM. Melania is, too.

    • Catherine says:

Oh Vava! I hear you loud and clear. Every one of them should be jailed! Look what he started. And the RepublicanTeaParty did nothing except to coddle him for four years. I hope every last one of them is voted out of office! XXOXOXO

  19. Rebecca says:

Finally people are seeing the emperor Without his clothes. Its amazing how many govt. officials are jumping ship AFTER the shit hit the fan. Like just how blind deaf & dumb are these govt buffoons ?.I thank God That we have a change Come in on the 20th and I also pray that none of them nitwits try doing anything stupid As for your 5 lb YAY you go girl I’m proud of you keep it up and keep it off And you’re very lucky that the Frenchman Will make you salads and they’re good he’s definitely a keeper. He reminds me of my dad Who was very much of a Frenchman I miss him dearly. Stay strong stay healthy – stay happy

    • Catherine says:

Hi Rebecca! Yes. My Frenchman is a definite keeper! And I’m very fortunate he’s supporting me in my journey. UGH! Can you believe the number of officials jumping ship? What cowards! If they had balls or any sense of self-esteem they would have left four years ago! I pray for a smooth and safe inaguration for Joe!

  20. Julie F says:

OMG, this is balm to my hurting soul. So good to see I’m not alone in my utter loathing for this PoS. Stuck in red-publican Manatee County (yes, home to podium guy) sometimes thought I was all alone in seeing this monster & his family for what they are: a bunch of treasonous grifters.

    • marsha57 says:

Julie F, I live in Indiana…home of 45.5. I don’t hope for blue anymore, but a light shade of lilac would be nice! It is hard being a liberal in a conservative place.

  21. Jacqui G. says:

Happy New Year and Lang May Yer Lum Reek!
Congrats and well done on the weight loss. Every time I go shopping (my once weekly outing when I am near other people) I tell myself to not buy any “goodies” but I always do.
    Go Georgia!
But I worry for people’s safety at the forthcoming Inauguration after this episode. I would like to think that the police/security acted as they did because they had learned from recent experiences how not to act, but that’s probably just very wishful thinking on my part.
I’ve previously posted about my feelings of disgust and loathing for Trump and his supporters and know no-one who feels any differently about him. There’s been supposition that he may fly here (Scotland) to play golf at one of his courses as he’s refusing to attend the Inauguration. NS has said that can’t/won’t happen. If it does, I can see a lot of us breaking the current lockdown rules by going and protesting wherever he is.

    • Juliet says:

Janie Godley to organize any welcome if he dared come to Scotland, and good for wee Nicola to have the backbone to say sod off to him

      • Jacqui G. says:

Absolutely! What a woman she is, I don’t believe in the Queen’s Honours system but wouldn’t it be wonderful if she was awarded something? And I can totally imagine a field of (socially distanced) protestors all holding placards saying “C…”. Almost makes me wish he would come 😂

  22. Mike says:

Congrats on the loss Cathe, way to go! I’m surprised you can go without socks/hose at this time of year… you must have good constitution (as my Nan used to say).

I’m in utter shock re. DC. Growing up next door in Canada, the US was always ‘different’ from us but still a source of stability. It is, in many ways, unrecognizable (typically, I’d fall into the R demographic… but I just CAN’T fathom much of what I’m seeing in the broader R leadership). Here’s to an honest-to-goodness decent human being in the WH once again.

    • Catherine says:

Hi Mike! LOL. I have a thing about socks. I cannot stand the way they look with heels and pants and just about everything! I would rather freeze! Oh God, I’m still shaking my head. Do. You. Know. That I read the moron who stole the lectern can be sent to jail for only one year. He’s a friggin Terrorist! I can’t even anymore. I hope that more people realize what a decent man Joe is. Because…he is decent and we need decency back! XOXOXOXO

  23. Michelle Marie Schmitt says:

Catherine, I could not have said it any better. Everything you said holds true. How dare that Jack Ass who called himself our president – he and his little moron followers all need to go.

  24. Cindylou says:

Thanks for your bravery. It’s your blog and if someone doesn’t like it she doesn’t have to read it. The nerve of coming back a second time. Congrats on the five lb loss. I think I’m going to try Bonaparte’s salad, it sounds yummy and I have Boursin cheese in my frig.

  25. Cathe says:

I’m so exhausted from the past week I don’t have any energy left to comment. It was last week wasn’t it? THANK YOU for taking the time to write. Just wanted to let you know your blog is so important to my well being right now. ❤️❤️❤️

  26. Renee in Northern California says:

Good job on the weight loss, that is fantastic! I swear, I feel we have been living in a horror movie…still can’t believe what happened. And, the crazies that did it. (“Economic anxiety”?! yeah sure) My god, there were current and retired military, teachers, lawyers, off duty police officers, retired fire fighter, contractor, business owners, and to top it off, a two time Gold medal Olympian! I feel such disgust and upset. Praying hard and counting down till 1/20/21! That will truly be the beginning of my New Year!

    • Catherine says:

Renee, I’m as flummoxed as you with this. I swear it is a cult. Shitler is akin to Hitler and Jones. It’s absolutely revolting. And….he’s done NOTHING for these morons. NOTHING!!!!!! We have hope among us! XOXOXOXOXO

  27. Babs says:

You carry your weight well. I suspect you feel worse than you look because you’re as cute as always!! Good luck with the weight goals!

I honestly couldn’t believe the rude comments (on both sides, mind you!) regarding the political climate. It’s the variety of views that makes our country so great. I’m sorry that dialogue has been lost. It is, to paraphrase a word from the post that drew me into your blog, all about the fuckedupness of our current life.

In the meantime, let’s be grateful for our beautiful Constitution. Yes, we do have the right to freedom of speech and to bear arms. But we also do not have the right to break and enter a building. Or beat the police. Or have the police beat us. Above all, we have the right to have a President who obeys the very same laws that apply to us.

Hi Babs! And thank you! Yeah. Being large-framed does have its benefits when it comes to carrying a bit of weight around. And I thank you for your eloquent words in connection with our current state of affairs. I’m still blown away as to how these animals were able to do that. I SWEAR there was inside help. However, I do have hope and love that Joe Biden said there is a “moral obligation” Morals! Who knew? I swear a good number of people in this country are morally devoid! XOXOXOXOXO
